 Ampicillin is used to treat patients with pneumonia (inflammation of lungs), bronchopneumonia (combined inflammation of the bronchi and lung), abscesses (ulcers) lungs, sore throat, peritonitis (inflammation of peritoneum), cholecystitis (inflammation of gall bladder) with sepsis, intestinal infections, postoperative infections, soft tissue and other infections caused by sensitive microorganisms. The drug is effective in the treatment of gonorrhea.
